Performance of the capacitive moisture sensor under different saline conditions

Capacitive methods for determining soil moisture are extremely practical and easily applied in the agriculturalenvironment, but influenced by temperature, salinity type of soil. In this study, aim was to verify performanceof Moisture Sensor Porous Media when subjected saline media. The sensor under evaluation wasdeveloped at Federal University Ceará, provides measurements electrical frequencies related moisture.The capacitive porous media solutions with different concentrations potassium chloride(KCl), it seen that electrodes appear sensitive inserted aqueous withan conductivity up 4 dS/m. Adjustments RC (resistor-capacitor) circuit were tested as an alternative tolessen effect on measurements, possible generate readings electricalfrequencies ranging from kHz MHz.
